Rob takes silver in Pancration

Huge congrats to Robert Sabaruddin, taking 2nd place at the Australian Pancration Championships
in the under 70kg division. Rob had his back against the wall right from the start when the organisers
made a blunder with the draw, in his first bout placing him in the wrong division (under 77kg) against
a native brazilian BJJ black belt. Succumbing to a guillotine choke, we considered this a fantastic warm
up match. Rob's next two matches were high energy, winning by guillotine choke in the first & armbar
in the second, putting him into the final. His final opponent was, you guessed it, a Gracie BJJ black belt
& head instructor. Rob fought hard, unfortunately falling victim to an armbar. What a fantastic effort,
fighting two BJJ black belts in one day, as one of the Brazilians said to me, Rob is a true warrior.
