Machado Nationals, results

The recent Machado BJJ nationals was the best & biggest ever with 280 competitors
gathering from Australia & overseas. John Will, as usual did a fantastic job with the
organization & Rigan Machado held a wonderful colored belt seminar the following
day with about 17 black belts in the same room. This really is rare anywhere in the
world, let alone Australia. Just goes to show what a strong organization John has
built over the years.
Jake Farnsworth won 4 matches, 2 by submission, 1 by referee stoppage & his final
match by points to take out the under 12's 20-28kg division. I am so proud of him.
Robert Sabaruddin took silver after 6 hard fought matches. Anyone that has ever
competed knows how hard it is to do this amount of matches in 1 day. What an athlete.
Ara Arountiounian also took silver in the teens over 55kg division. Well done Ara your future
is so bright. Andrew Fu was out pointed in his second match in the biggest division of the
comp, 48 people. Great effort Andrew.
All said & done it was a great weekend & very successful for our small team. I was very
impressed with all our competitors, they played their game & took it to their opponents.Win,
lose or draw they held themselves high & showed great sportsmanship. Well done guy's,
I am very proud of you all.
